What's new in Vittora 1.8.0

Vittora 1.8.0 is a larger release than the ones before it. The privacy line has not moved. There is still no bank login, the ledger still lives on your devices, and optional sync still uses your iCloud rather than a Vittora server.

Here is what you can do with it.

Tax estimates for five countries

The estimate now covers India, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada. India and the United States were already there. The United Kingdom adds income tax, including Scottish rates, National Insurance, and capital gains tax. Australia adds resident rates, the Medicare levy and levy surcharge, the low income tax offset, the 50% CGT discount, and concessional super. Canada adds federal tax for all 13 provinces and territories, CPP or QPP, EI, and Quebec’s federal abatement.

The tables include India FY 2026–27, United Kingdom 2026–27, Australia 2026–27, Canada 2026, and the United States 2026. A pass over the rules also corrected items such as India’s marginal relief, U.S. capital-loss netting, self-employment tax, and the senior deduction.

Your tax profile stays free, including U.S. contribution headroom for 401(k), IRA, and HSA room. IRA room is tracked only. The deduction is not applied, because it depends on workplace-plan coverage Vittora does not know. The computed estimate, the regime comparison, and the tax report export are Vittora Pro.

These are educational estimates, calculated on your device. They are not tax advice and not filing software. Some items are left out. Quebec’s provincial credits are not modelled. UK reliefs such as Marriage Allowance are not calculated, and pension relief is applied as the amount you enter. From tax year 2026–27, India’s Income-tax Act, 2025 renumbered sections. Labels such as 80C refer to the earlier Act.

The detail, country by country, is on tax planning.

Reports

Net worth over time is free: a chart of what you own minus what you owe, with credit-card debt included. Monthly overview, category breakdown, spending trends, cash flow, the annual summary, and Year in Review stay free as well.

The reports screen can also point out an unusual spending month, or a budget that keeps coming in over or under. Those notes are drawn from your own records, they are not a recommendation, and they are free.

Vittora Pro adds the financial health score and spending outlook. The outlook includes a what-if you set yourself: a category and a change, and what that would have been worth. The score describes your records for the month. It is not advice, and it does not compare you with anyone else. The other Pro reports are unchanged: cash-flow forecast, subscription audit, 50/30/20, emergency fund, and custom reports.

Household budgets

You can share household budgets, and the expenses members log against them. The share goes through the members’ iCloud. The owner chooses who can edit and who can only view. Personal accounts and transactions stay on each person’s own ledger.

This is not the same as a split group. Splits share a settlement through a link. Household sharing does not require Vittora Pro, and Apple Family Sharing of a Pro subscription does not open a household by itself. The difference is spelled out in Family Sharing without sharing your ledger.

Apple devices

On iPhone, a shopping session can keep a running total in the Dynamic Island and on the Lock Screen, and that total can count against a budget. A bill can count down the same way.

A widget can log a preset expense, an amount and a category you already chose, without opening the app.

On Apple Watch you can dictate an amount and a category, such as “500 for groceries,” or ask Siri to log an expense in Vittora. Siri asks what you spent, then uses the same parser as dictation.

Everyday capture

When several savings goals draw on the same account, Vittora shows what each one claims against the balance, including when the claims add up to more than the account holds. Categories can nest one level deep. A receipt that runs to several pages scans as one document, and it counts as one scan against the free quota of five a month. Pro removes that cap.

Pick a payee and Vittora suggests the category from your own history. It learns on your device. Monthly Overview opens with a short summary of the month, written by Apple Intelligence on supported devices, and every number in it is checked against your records before it is shown. Other devices get a plain sentence built from the numbers. The health score, spending outlook, and insight cards are calculated from rules, not AI. None of this is sent to Vittora.

1.8.0 also includes a round of reliability work: net worth treating credit-card debt as debt, cents displaying as cents, and corrections in cash flow, category breakdown, annual bars, recurring income, and the iPad and Mac layout. Those are fixes, not new products.

What this release does not add

There is no bank connection and no account aggregation.
